Understanding the Points

Points are displayed next to each driver's name in the dropdown lists. These points represent exactly how many points you'll earn if your prediction is correct.

How Points Are Calculated
  1. Base Point:
    • Earn 1 point if your predicted driver finishes in the exact position you selected.
  2. Difference Points:
    • Earn additional points based on the difference between the driver's Season Standing Position (their current rank before the race) and your Predicted Position.
    • Difference Points = Absolute difference between Season Standing Position and Predicted Position.
    • The greater the difference, the more points you can earn.
  3. Podium Multipliers:
    • For podium positions, your total points for that driver are multiplied:
    • 1st Place: Points × 5
    • 2nd Place: Points × 3
    • 3rd Place: Points × 2
    • Positions 4th to 10th have no multiplier.

Calculating Total Points for a Driver:

Total Points = (1 base point + Difference Points) × Multiplier (if applicable)

Example of Points Calculation

Let's clarify with an example:

Example

Driver: Carlos Sainz
Season Standing Position: 6th

You Predict Carlos Sainz to Finish:
Position: 2nd
Dropdown Shows: "Carlos Sainz (15 points)"

Calculations:

  • Base Point: 1 point (if he finishes 2nd)
  • Difference Points: |6 - 2| = 4 points
  • Total Before Multiplier: 1 + 4 = 5 points
  • Multiplier for 2nd Place: ×3
  • Total Points: 5 × 3 = 15 points

So, if Carlos Sainz finishes 2nd, you'll earn 15 points for this prediction.

Quick Tips

  • Aim for High Difference: Predicting a driver to finish much higher or lower than their Season Standing Position can earn you more points.
  • Utilize Podium Multipliers: Maximize your score by accurately predicting 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place finishes.
